Hong’s background (Andrew) |
|
Hong’s first experience to Feng Shui was when he was only seven years old in Singapore. He followed his grandmother (Madam Poon Szee) who went around the neighborhood offering advice and services to friends and neighbors in exchange for fruits, rice and small gifts…..lots of listening and observation for a kid. These traditions were later carried on by his mother for a short period of time and on a smaller scale. This family tradition came to a halt when Andrew started going to school in Singapore to pursue his education and career, which eventually brought him to the United States. Andrew is a financial advisor and private consultant and has taught Feng Shui at several local community centers, including Edina and Anoka-Ramsey. He was also featured in Minneapolis Business Venture Magazine and in the Star Tribune (Home and Garden section). He has given talks to Health & Life expos, Rotary Club, private corporations and the Ordway Theater Company. Andrew was a founding member on the Board of the Feng Shui Institute of Midwest. His other related interests are Chinese calligraphy, Painting and Chinese poetry. Andrew also volunteers as a Tour Guide at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. He received his education at the University of Chicago and his MBA from New York University. Hong lived in Singapore most of his life and has been exposed to different cultures and walks of life. He speaks English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien, Teochow and Malay.
